DESCRIPTION OF WORKThis position plays a key role in supporting construction documentation, field reviews, and project accuracy for transportation projects. The work helps ensure that construction activities meet Department standards and that records are complete and reliable. As a Technical Assistant, you will perform the following duties:
- Documentation Review:
Check project records and materials reports for accuracy and compliance with Department policies. - Project Support:
Assist in maintaining construction project documentation using ECMS, PPCC, and mobile applications. - Cost Verification:
Review calculations and quantities to confirm that submitted costs and payments are correct. - Field Inspection:
Observe construction activities and traffic control setups to ensure they follow plans and specifications. - Material Testing:
Assist with sampling and reviewing materials and collecting required certifications for project use.
- Full‑time employment.
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday–Friday, with a 30‑minute lunch. Hours may change based on seasonal requirements and operational needs.
- You will work closely with vendors; hours may change based on vendor availability.
- Telework:
You may have the opportunity to work from home part‑time on an ad‑hoc basis. You must have a securely configured high‑speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. - Salary:
Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin at an annual salary of $33,995.00 (before taxes).
- Graduation from high school.
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
- You must meet the PA residency requirement.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
