We are seeking an experienced estimator for our highway & bridge division, based out of York, PA. The estimator is responsible for securing bids, reviewing plans and specifications, and building professional relationships with subcontractors and suppliers. These projects can include bridge, highway and utility infrastructure. The estimator prepares estimates for part or all the project and must work as part of a team.

A successful candidate should possess an engineering or construction management degree or background along with applicable field experience, strong computer skills, and good communication skills and a willingness to learn. Please note that this position is considered safety sensitive in accordance with Kinsley Construction policies and procedures.

Typical responsibilities/essential functions include navigation of construction drawings and specifications, developing scope of work and preparing bid tabulation sheets, preparing accurate take-offs, performing site visits and attending prebid meetings, preparing detailed estimates and proposals, professionally communicating with owners, engineers and vendors, obtaining competitive pricing from material suppliers and subcontractors as required; gathering interest from subcontractors and suppliers on projects by phone (primary) and email communication, and performing other related duties as required.

Requirements include strong computer skills along with proficient written/verbal communication, experience working with HCSS Heavy Bid, Bluebeam or similar take-off software, and MS Office. An engineering construction management or related degree is preferred.
