Job Title
Experience and Qualifications:
Associate degree or high school diploma/GED along with successfully passing the Master Teacher Test (if less than 45 college credits). Must be willing to participate in ongoing professional development Ability to operate standard office equipment (computer, copier, etc.) Preferred:
At least 1 year experience working with children with disabilities Ability to closely work with a student's specialized needs (using patience, assist with toileting needs, high tolerance for frustration and be flexible within challenging environments) Ability to effectively use written and verbal skills to communicate with teachers, students, parents and supervisors. The ability to take initiative to creatively solve problems and to participate and communicate as a member of a team.
Demonstrate a high degree of customer service skills, respect, dignity and professionalism Regular attendance is required and/or must have the ability to travel between various locations based on need First Aid/CPR certification preferred Ability to collaborate and function in an equable fashion with a diverse population of students and staff Other qualifications to the above that the board may find acceptable and appropriate.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist the student with a variety of tasks that would facilitate full access to educational programs Provide clerical assistance for the teacher Assist in monitoring of lavatories, lunchroom, transitioning in hallways/classroom and playground Inventory, distribute and collect educational materials as requested Assist with one-to-one and small group instruction of students as assigned and directed Supervise students who require transportation Following and assisting in implementing behavior plans Complete daily logs pertaining to support provided to the student (IEP Aide) Attend to all personal care needs of assigned student or students, which may include toileting, feeding, and changing.
Collect data on student progress assigned by teacher Assist students in general education classes, if appropriate Provide substitute support when student absences impacts current assignment Perform other related duties as assigned by a supervisor.
