As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will take a key role in the planning and design of cutting-edge hyperscale and enterprise data centers
, working closely with internal teams and industry-leading clients. You will provide technical leadership, oversee the full lifecycle of mechanical systems design, and guide a team of mechanical engineers and designers.
This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with a high-performing group that delivers complex, large-scale projects across North America and internationally.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the mechanical design of mission critical/data center facilities, including cooling systems, HVAC, hydronics, and air distribution.
- Develop design documentation including calculations, system layouts, specifications, and equipment selections.
- Serve as the primary mechanical engineering contact for clients, project managers, and cross-discipline team members.
- Review and validate work completed by junior engineers and designers; provide mentorship and technical guidance.
- Participate in conceptual design, feasibility studies, and early‑stage system modeling.
- Coordinate deliverables and ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with applicable codes and standards.
- Support construction administration activities, including RFIs, submittal reviews, site inspections, and commissioning support.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering;
Master’s preferred. - Professional Engineer (PE) or P.Eng. required (or ability to obtain within 12 months).
- 7+ years of mechanical engineering experience
, ideally with a focus on data centers or other mission critical environments. - Strong knowledge of mechanical infrastructure systems such as CRAH/CRAC, chilled water systems, DX systems, economization strategies, and energy efficiency principles.
- Experience leading engineering teams and providing mentorship.
- Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and mechanical modeling tools.
- Excellent communication skills and an ability to engage with clients and internal stakeholders.
