Job Title: Field Service Engineer
Location: York, PA
Salary / Pay Range: $90,000 annually
Employment Type: Full-Time
Our client is seeking a Field Service Engineer to plan and manage the field service scope of projects while ensuring work is completed within budget, schedule, quality, and safety requirements. This role will support proposals, project execution, site planning, technical reviews, and field service coordination for turbine, generator, and balance of plant equipment projects.
Responsibilities
- Develop field service concepts, execution plans, and cost estimates for project proposals
- Review technical requirements, customer specifications, and applicable legal or regional regulations
- Participate in site assessments and ensure required project information is available
- Support customer clarifications and field service planning during proposal and execution phases
- Prepare specifications for purchased services and supplies and evaluate bids or offers
- Identify risks and opportunities during the proposal phase and define contingency plans
- Support project startup and detail field service plans during execution
- Participate in design review meetings and provide field-related input
- Develop project-specific procedures, safety assessments, HSE documents, and quality plans
- Determine site layouts, tooling, fixtures, and infrastructure requirements
- Support project managers and site managers in executing field service scope
- Monitor quality, schedule, and cost targets and support corrective actions as needed
- Coordinate internal and external resources required for field service work
- Provide technical support and guidance to field sites
Required Qualifications
- University diploma in Engineering or equivalent industry experience
- Technical understanding of turbines, generators, and balance of plant equipment
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, schedules, and budgets
- Project management experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to travel to various project sites as needed
- Ability to meet physical requirements of the role, including use of PPE, lifting up to 50 lbs., climbing ladders and stairs, working in confined spaces, and working at heights
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a site manager or supervisor on hydro turbine or generator projects
- Field service experience within industrial, power generation, hydro, or heavy equipment environments
- Experience supporting project proposals, site planning, and field execution activities
