Position SummaryThis is an excellent opportunity for an Accounting/Finance professional with 3-4 years of experience in accounting or finance. This position offers long-term growth within the organization and career mobility. The senior financial operations accountant will be responsible for reconciling and analyzing financial and reinsurance data to ensure accurate and timely cross functional reporting.
Key Responsibilities- Manage end-to-end Pareto revenue transactions, including month-end close journal entries and AR reconciliation processes
- Track premiums, claims, commissions, and risk-sharing arrangements
- Finance data pipeline validation into financial metrics
- Liaison between Pareto’s controllership team and strategic finance including but not limited to audit prep, due diligence and executive / board presentations.
- Ensure alignment between operational data and financial reporting
- Review and reconcile data between externally prepared financial reporting and member level reporting
- Assist in preparing financial data for statutory filings and board-level reporting packages
- Prepare regular reports, dashboards, and presentations that identify and analyze leading KPI’s
- Assist with regulatory compliance including audit, tax, state, and other regulatory functions
- Establish partnerships and working relationships with external and internal department leaders within Pareto
- Support adhoc company strategic initiatives with cross functional collaboration
- Own and continuously improve the custom financial consolidated reporting system, including system enhancements, UAT testing, reporting logic validation, and documentation of data flows and controls to support audit readiness and scalability.
- Ability to learn complex systems quickly and translate data into financial reporting
- Experience with financial reporting capabilities in the One Stream system
- Strong analytical and reconciliation skills with large data sets
- Solid communication with internal and external partners
- Organization and time management
Working in a fast-paced environment
- CPA or MBA preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- 3-4 Years of accounting experience, either public accounting or industry
- Preferred:
Experience with insurance and reinsurance contracts - Proficiency in Excel (pivot-tables/v-lookups required) with exposure to SQL as a plus
