Position Summary
The Jr. Systems Administrator is responsible for the support of the organization’s server and network systems infrastructure. The Jr. Systems Administrator will assist the systems team in ensuring that all systems are tuned to provide optimal performance, resilience and up-time, as well as providing dependable disaster recoverability of systems. The position also assists in ensuring that the organization’s infrastructure and related procedures adhere to organizational IT standards.
EssentialJob Functions
- Supports and maintains all aspects of servers and infrastructure in a Linux/Windows split environment while documenting projects, migrations, SOPs and technical configuration manuals
- Installs/migrates/backs-up/troubleshoots and upgrades all Linux Red Hat and Windows /64
Bit servers - Performs and maintains scheduled backups of all server-hosted data and maintains an archive of backed-up data to disk, off-site and cloud archival, as well as off-site replicated VM’s
- Manages Disaster Recovery systems (Rubrik, Zerto, Cloud Services)
- Vulnerability Management (Server, Workstation) (Azure, Arctic Wolf, Abnormal)
- Manages infrastructure monitoring and performance management systems
- Manages Wireless network connectivity and availability
- Manages Internet-facing and Cloud-based services (Office 365, videoconferencing, mobile VPN service) including DNS and SSL certificates
- Helps manage multi-site vSphere environment
- MECM Upgrades, Config refinement
- Patch
MyPC Software Updates + Publishing - Suggets future upgrades and improvements to the computing environment
- Interacts with hardware and software vendors for support tasks
- Enforces IT standards and educates employees about compliance issues
- Follows all company environmental, health and safety policies, procedures and guidelines, and conducts work in a safe manner
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Strong Windows Server administration skills
- MCSE desirable
- Knowledge of networked systems
- Familiarity with IP addressing/subnetting/routing protocols
- Familiarity with Power Shell scripting desirable
- Must be able to evaluate critical systems
- Ability to manage multiple projects, activities and tasks simultaneously
- Ability to communicate with all levels of staff and vendors regarding network issues or problems
- Good phone skills and interpersonal skills required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent attendance and ability to work overtime, if necessary
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management of Information Systems or equivalent work experience
- 2 years of experience supporting Information Systems
The base salary range for this position is $74,000- $80,000/year. The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.
