SAP Extended Warehouse Management Business Processes Principal Consultant

What you buildThe EWM Principal Consultant will partner with the client to analyze and define business requirements, processes, and objectives to scope the project and deliverables. The consultant will implement, customize, and test solutions on the client system and design client‑specific enhancements to meet business requirements as needed.
Job duties will also include- Active involvement in the preparation, conception, realization, and Go Live of customer implementation projects
- Performing feasibility studies and processing design reviews
- Taking frequent responsibility as team lead and supporting respective line manager(s) in people development tasks
- Developing detailed plan‑of‑process implementations
- Leading industry/corporate process implementations across all related applications
- Developing and ensuring quality‑of‑process models
- Demonstrating profound knowledge of modeling standards and tools
- Traveling to customers approximately 50‑100% of the time
Job Duties
- Identify, prototype, and operationalize AI use cases in EWM (e.g., AI‑assisted labor planning, exception detection), link outcomes to KPIs, and run A/B tests before promoting to production.
- Integrate EWM with SAP BAIP (Business AI Platform) and AI services (AI Core/AI Launchpad) and/or computer vision/edge AI; establish monitoring, human‑in‑the‑loop controls, and fallback rules for model‑driven decisions.
- Orchestrate AI‑powered automations with SAP Build Process Automation/RPA and EWM queues to triage alerts, pre‑fill documents (ASN/HU), and trigger corrective tasks with auditability.
In addition to successfully completing a minimum of five full lifecycle projects as a functional EWM consultant, the successful candidate will have:
- A BS degree in a relevant discipline; an advanced degree is a plus
- At least 8 years of EWM consulting experience
- Strong knowledge of warehouse, distribution, and transportation business processes/best practices
- Familiarity with enterprise mobility solutions and hardware & wireless technologies
- Exposure to object‑oriented programming
- ABAP development and debugging skills are a plus
- Good knowledge of SAP integration aspects
- Product knowledge of SAP TM, Yard Logistics, PP, MM, QM is a plus
- Formal EWM training and/or certification is a plus
- Experience with Activate methodology and/or Solution Manager is a plus
- Strong communication skills to interact with internal/external stakeholders at all levels
- Basic proficiency in Business AI Platform, preferably hands‑on experience with SAPUI5, SAP Build, SAP Build Process Automation, Joule Studio, and Generative AI Hub (SAP AI Launchpad, SAP AI Core, Vision Models, etc.)
- Awareness of responsible AI (privacy, bias, explainability) and ability to design human‑in‑the‑loop controls and communicate AI recommendations to business and IT stakeholders
Targeted annual combined range for this position: 151,900 – 340,900 USD.
The actual offer will be within that range, depending on education, skills, experience, scope of role, location, and performance.
