Job Summary:

Performs production work according to customer requirements including welding and basic assembly operations in a Lean Six Sigma environment.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:


Standard Vessels and Heat Exchangers

  • Assembles and welds sub assembly parts Installs parts Welds internal and external parts .
  • Installs heads and sub arc Sub arc wrappers
  • Assembles and welds supports, legs and angles Assembles and welds water boxes


Standard Compressor Packages

  • Assembles and welds sub assembly parts Installs package components Assembles weld and installs system piping
  • Assist in training less experienced employees
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Pipe welding (Ability to qualify in a 6G test for Mig, Pulse and Tig)
  • Blueprint reading
  • Fabrication skills (Cutting and fitting)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • May be required to work extended hours which may include weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Sufficient hand, arm and finger dexterity to operate tools and/or machinery
  • Other duties as assigned.

Your Profile / Qualifications

Key Accountabilities
Predominantly delivers - follows defined standards.

  • Developing proficiencies in standard assembly practices within the department to meet standard efficiencies, schedules and quality
  • Willingness to work extended hours when required to support customer satisfaction.
  • Supports all continuous improvement and 6S standards
  • Follow all Safety Policy PPE Requirements
  • Supports department in continuous improvement of procedures, strategies, tools and personal development.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred
  • Certified Vocational Degrees Preferred
  • 1-3 years experience MIG, TIG, Pipe and Structural welding

    (Ability to qualify in a 6G test for Mig, Pulse and Tig

  • Basic math skills
  • Basic blueprint reading
  • Basic fabrication skills
  • Comprehension of safety rules
  • Sit, stand, reach, walk for periods of time on concrete surface.
  • Ability to lift / carry 50 lbs.
  • Sufficient hand, arm and finger dexterity to operate tools and or machinery.

The typical base pay range for this position at the start of employment is expected to be between $26 - $29 per hour. GEA Group has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States.

The pay range is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. The estimated range is the budgeted amount for the position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications, and other job-related reasons. You may be eligible for additional rewards, such as discretionary bonus (based on eligibility) and/or equity awards.
