** Overview*
* Graham Packaging Company is looking for a Quality Technician based at the Graham Packaging Technical Center Analytical Lab in York, PA. This opening is for day shift, which operates between the hours of 7am through 5pm.

The Quality Technician assures the quality of both current and new products both physically and metrologically. This position works with all types of bottles/preforms/resins.  The Quality Technician works closely with project managers, product development engineers, process engineers and production employees to understand the scope of each project to achieve expected outcomes.

** Responsibilities*
* The primary duties of a Quality Technician include:

+ Understands, follows and enforces all established safety, health, quality GMP and Company policies, procedures and recognized practices.

+ Utilize current test methods and procedures to complete testing on bottles/preforms/resins.

+ Participate in Round Robin testing within the lab and with other plants.

+ Complete all reports and forms for product and process documentation.

+ Work on projects measuring / physical testing of Bottles/preforms/resins for new product development, assist plants, or be a third party between plants.

+ Keep lab areas / equipment organized and clean.

+ Some weekend work will be required.

+ Limited travel may be required.

** Qualifications*
* A minimum of 1 to 3 years in manufacturing preferred. Minimum of 1 year quality experience preferred.  Quality Technicians are required to communicate with stakeholders including project managers, product development engineers, process engineers, production employees and other lab personnel.

The following skills and proficiencies are also essential requirements of the position:

+ Ability to maintain regular, predictable, and punctual attendance with some weekend work required.

+ Computer usage and typing skills are essential.  Good understanding of Excel and email is essential.

+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate facts and information clearly with internal and external customers.

+ Must be able to multi-task and work under pressure to meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.

+ Ability to work independently within parameters of written request instructions, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.

+ The knowledge and use of general lab equipment and the eagerness to learn to operate more diverse equipment.

+ Good visual skills to recognize visual defects.

+ Understanding of the importance of gauge calibration and verification and maintain effective calibration of equipment.

+ The ability to read and understand blueprints.
