Mechanical Design Engineer

Manpower is partnering with a leading manufacturing company to hire a Mechanical Design Engineer for a direct hire opportunity. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer with experience designing custom machinery and working in a fast-paced production environment.

** Key Responsibilities*
* + Create conceptual designs, detailed drawings, and assembly layouts for conveyors and bakery/food processing equipment

+ Develop fabrication-ready drawings in accordance with company standards

+ Produce detailed layouts to ensure proper tolerances and clearances

+ Participate in and contribute to design reviews

+ Manage project timelines by tracking progress, coordinating tasks, and resolving issues

+ Apply strong technical knowledge to troubleshoot and solve design challenges

+ Independently complete assignments within established timelines

+ Identify required materials and generate purchase requisitions

+ Perform engineering calculations, including motor sizing and structural integrity

Qualifications

+ Bachelor's degree in Engineering Mechanical preferred but not required

+ 3-5 years of design experience in a manufacturing or machinery environment

+ Proficiency with Solid Works and Solid Works PDM

+ Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Experience

+ Equipment design

+ Custom machinery manufacturing

+ Sanitary design principles

+ Conveyor systems and sheet metal design
