Production Configuration Management Analyst
Our client is seeking a Production Configuration Management Analyst to support manufacturing operations and product configuration management activities in a fast-paced production environment. This role is responsible for evaluating engineering changes, analyzing manufacturing impacts, and coordinating implementation plans to ensure production configurations remain accurate and compliant.
The Production Configuration Management Analyst will serve as a key liaison between Engineering, Manufacturing, Material Control, and Production teams. This individual will review technical drawing packages, assess impacts to manufacturing bills of material, and lead the implementation of manufacturing changes while ensuring minimal disruption to production schedules.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the processing and implementation of Manufacturing Change Notices (MCNs).
- Review and analyze Technical Drawing Packages (TDPs) and engineering change documentation.
- Compare engineering changes against existing Manufacturing Bills of Material (MBOMs).
- Identify impacts to MBOM configurations, routings, assembly processes, work instructions, material flow, and production schedules.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, material control, and production teams to gather and validate configuration information.
- Organize and facilitate cross-functional meetings to develop implementation strategies for manufacturing changes.
- Track action items and follow-up activities related to configuration changes.
- Provide technical guidance and support for problem-solving and process improvements.
- Support configuration management activities throughout the product lifecycle.
- Ensure manufacturing documentation remains accurate and aligned with engineering requirements.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience reading and interpreting technical drawings and Technical Drawing Packages (TDPs).
- Knowledge of Manufacturing Bills of Material (BOMs/MBOMs).
- Experience working with Enterprise Product Data Management (EPDM) systems, including Windchill.
- Experience using Oracle applications, including Item Master, Drawing Files, Bills of Material, and Routings.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes including assembly, sub-assembly, machining, welding, paint, marking, and production operations.
- Knowledge of processing non-conforming materials and coordinating rework or upgrades through Outside Service Providers (OSP).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with manufacturing material control and change implementation processes.
- Knowledge of job releases, modifications, floor stock management, and inventory impacts associated with engineering changes.
- Experience supporting weld, assembly, and manufacturing operations.
- Advanced Excel skills, including macros and automation tools.
- Experience using OBIEE reporting tools to analyze and identify MBOM changes.
