Warehouse I
- Bailer
The Warehouse I
- Bailer ensures that wastepaper is segregated and baled, and loaded correctly.
Essential Functions:
- Demonstrate commitment to safety and perform job duties in accordance with company safety policies and procedures
- Demonstrate commitment to quality and perform job duties in adherence to GMP guidelines
- Monitor wastepaper program as defined by Area Manager
- Operate safely and within standards manual baler, auto-tie evacuated baler and down-stroke baler
- Perform machine inspections by shift
- Operate Power Industrial Equipment (PIT) safely Class 1, 3, & 4
- Off-load skids of wastepaper sheets into baler or band skids as needed
- Tie off bales coming from manual and down-stroke balers
- Retrieve and empty bins within plants at the balers following wastepaper program standards
- Load bales and skids onto appropriate trailers as specified by wastepaper program
- Generate accurate bills of lading and packing lists
- Monitor other associates dumping trash to assure compliance with wastepaper program
- Perform by shift (PIT) inspections of all pieces of equipment in the department
- Monitor broken trailers, coordinate trailer switches daily with Warehouse Group Leader and update waste sheets daily
- Maintain inside dock area and outside dock area (after every trailer switch) to ensure that it is safe and clean at all times
- Rearrange dock area for open space when needed
- Switch bales on the baler when full
- Play an active role in the cleanliness of the assigned work area
- Understand department communication systems, schedules, time/attendance system and job reporting requirements
- Actively participate in lean manufacturing initiatives
- Perform other duties as assigned by management/supervisors

Education/Certification:
High school diploma or equivalent
Work Experience:
6+ months forklift experience
Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Safety sensitive position – ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner
- Ability to work overtime and weekends as required based upon the needs of the business
- Ability to effectively work in teams
- Ability to work in a production-based environment with moving equipment and people
- Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of roles
Position: 2nd Shift
Hours:
3:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. Shift Differential: $2.00 per hour in addition to the base rate of pay.
