Education RequirementsHigh school diploma or GED required. Technical school training, apprenticeship, or certification in Tool & Die, Machining, Manufacturing Technology, or Industrial Maintenance preferred. Additional training in stamping die repair and maintenance is a plus.
Experience RequirementsProven experience maintaining, repairing, and rebuilding metal stamping dies, with preference for high-speed progressive die experience. Strong knowledge of die construction, tooling wear patterns, root cause analysis, and die failure prevention. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and tooling specifications. Proficient in the use of precision measuring instruments and inspection tools. Experience working independently in a tool room, die maintenance, or die assembly environment while maintaining quality and safety standards.
PhysicalCapabilities
Ability to lift, carry, and move tooling components weighing up to 50 pounds. Capable of standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and performing repetitive tasks throughout a manufacturing shift. Comfortable working around industrial equipment, stamping presses, and tooling machinery in a production environment.
Job DutiesPerform hands-on maintenance, repair, refurbishment, and rebuilding of stamping dies to support efficient manufacturing operations. Disassemble, clean, inspect, troubleshoot, and reassemble tooling components to ensure optimal performance and longevity. Diagnose and resolve die issues during preventive maintenance activities and unexpected press breakdowns. Restore tooling to production-ready condition quickly to minimize downtime and maximize productivity. Monitor die performance, identify wear or damage, and implement corrective actions to improve reliability.
Support continuous improvement efforts by optimizing tooling performance, reducing maintenance costs, and increasing production efficiency. Work closely with production and maintenance teams to keep metal stamping equipment and tooling systems operating safely and efficiently.
