Group Leader – Finishing
The role of the Group Leader – Finishing is to provide guidance to department employees in the Supervisor's absence. This person maintains organized work flow within their respected area and supervises operation for highest quality and production with the proper number of employees. The Group Leader is responsible for setting the example to other employees in the areas of safety compliance, excellent attendance and participating with overtime needs.
Essential Functions:
- Demonstrate commitment to safety and perform job duties in accordance with company safety policies and procedures
- Demonstrate commitment to quality and perform job duties in adherence to GMP guidelines; monitor and maintain quality standards
- Read and interpret information on work orders to determine properly preformed products are produced
- Maintain accurate production records
- Communicate information as needed to employees, shift supervisor and next shift group leader or machine operator
- Ensure high levels of production, maximizing efficiency with planned work assignments
- Maintain a clean work area, ensuring a safe working environment
- Train new operators as needed
- Oversee general preventive maintenance on equipment
- Operate equipment as necessary to maintain productivity during the operator's absence
- Understand department communication systems, schedules, time/attendance system and job reporting requirements
- Actively participate in lean manufacturing initiatives
- Perform other duties as assigned by management/supervisors

Education/Certification:
High school diploma or equivalent
Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Safety sensitive position – ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner
- Ability to work overtime and weekends as required based upon the needs of the business
- Ability to effectively work in teams
- Ability to work in a production-based environment with moving equipment and people
- Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of roles
Position: 2nd Shift
Hours:
3:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. Monday - Friday Shift Differential: $2.00 per hour in addition to the base rate of pay.
