Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro ICU position requiring strong neuroscience ICU background and proficiency in advanced neurocritical care procedures.

• Work in a 10-bed Neuro ICU within a hospital setting
• Patient population includes critically ill stroke, non-traumatic neurosurgery, and neurology patients aged 18 and older
• Provides care for post-op neurosurgery, neuro-endovascular procedures, and overflow medical patients
• Handles procedures including EVD, ICP monitoring, angiogram post care, CRRT, carotid and embolizations, AVM and aneurysm repairs, and mechanical thrombectomy
• Uses Epic EMR with prior experience required
• Night shifts; 3 or 4 shifts per week (12 hours, 18:45–07:15)
• Every other weekend required
• May be asked to float to other ICUs if needed
• No on-call requirements
• May care for COVID-19 patients
• Responsibilities include managing post-operative neurosurgical and neuro-endovascular patients with advanced monitoring and intervention requirements
• Must be willing to work in a tobacco and fragrance-free environment
• Maximum of 7 days of requested time off allowed during assignment
• Holiday coverage may be required as needed
• One hardship shift may be required depending on assignment timeline
• Flexibility to rotate shifts (day/night) is preferred
• Clinical fit will be reviewed prior to hire and a manager interview is required
• Could be assigned to float within different ICU settings

• Active RN license for PA or Compact state
• Minimum 2 years of recent Neuro ICU experience
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Epic EMR experience required
