Hill Top’s summer programs are designed to empower neurodiverse youth and young adults through experiential learning, skill development, and social connection. As part of the clinical team, you’ll provide emotional support to campers across all three programs (Summer Adventures, Pathways to Independence, and Esports & Technology), helping each camper navigate challenges, build self-regulation skills, and thrive in a safe, inclusive camp community.
PositionSummary
We are seeking a nurse for compassionate medical care and health support for campers and staff throughout Hill Top Preparatory School’s Summer program. In this role, you are responsible for administering first aid, managing camper medications, responding to health-related concerns, maintaining accurate and confidential medical records, and working closely with camp leadership to help ensure a safe, healthy, and positive camp environment.
The ideal candidate enjoys working with children and adolescents, communicates clearly with families and staff, and brings a calm, supportive presence to an active summer camp setting.
- Responsible for providing basic medical care and health support throughout the camp day
- Administering first aid and medical care to campers and staff as needed
- Managing and distributing camper medications according to prescribed schedules
- Assessing and responding to health-related concerns or emergencies
Collaborating with camp leadership to maintain a safe and healthy environment - Maintaining accurate and confidential medical records for campers and staff
- Communicating with families and staff as needed regarding camper health needs
- Supporting basic health and hygiene practices during the camp day
- A current nursing license in Pennsylvania
- Current CPR and First Aid certifications
- Experience working with neurodiverse populations in a clinical setting (strongly preferred).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to work in a team-oriented, dynamic camp environment
- A calm, compassionate, and professional approach to student care
- A commitment to helping create a positive and safe summer camp experience
- Prior experience in a clinical or counseling role in outdoor or camp settings (preferred).
- FBI background check, Pennsylvania State Police criminal record check, Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance, and fingerprinting (required)
Camp runs from June 22nd to July 31st. Hours are Monday through Friday 8:45am to 3:45pm. Potential Training days may be needed prior to camp and will be scheduled in advance.
CompensationThis is a seasonal position. Pay is $7,500 for the entire summer camp.
