Job Summary

Geisinger is proud to offer a full‑time Inpatient Registered Nurse (RN) role with a hiring incentive of up to $23,500. The base rate starts at $41.00 per hour, with increases for experienced nurses and up to $7.00 in shift differentials for evening, night, and weekend shifts. Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates.

Hours:

7:00pm–7:30am, every other weekend and holiday. Float differential: $5.00 per hour.

• Assess, organize, perform, and evaluate nursing activities to meet patient needs.
• Promote adaptive responses of patient and family to achieve the highest level of care.
• Show compassionate care during patient‑nurse interactions.
• Coordinate patient care and staff interactions.
• Ensure a high‑quality patient and family experience by optimizing all interactions.
• Complete assessments per scope of practice and unit standards.
• Address the physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs of patients and families.
• Formulate, coordinate, and provide a plan of care—including patient and family education, disposition planning, and discharge planning—according to unit standards.
• Provide direct patient care such as treatments, medications, and diagnostic studies in accordance with policy and procedure.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of nursing interventions and revise the plan of care as needed.
• Initiate collaboration with physicians, ancillary personnel, and other interdisciplinary team members to proactively resolve patient needs.
• Problem‑solve, troubleshoot, and take corrective measures in equipment handling and patient care.
• Participate in unit‑based decision‑making regarding the utilization of evidence‑based practice.
• Actively participate as a team member working toward unit and organizational goals and be accountable for unit and system specific metrics.
• Take part in patient quality and safety education programs and other activities aimed at improving departmental and organizational quality and safety.

• Graduate from a Specialty Training Program‑Nursing (Required).
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Management (Preferred).
• Licenses and
  
  Certifications:
  
  Basic Life Support Certification;
  Licensed Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania ( of Pennsylvania).
• Experience:
  
  Competence in nocturnal shifts (7:00pm–7:30am) and ability to work every other weekend and holiday.
• Temporary Practice Permit may be required until NCLEX is completed.
