Position: Graduate Nurse - Operating Room (Cardiac Open Heart Surgery) - Day
** Schedule*
* Full Time: 40 Hours/Week

Hours:

Monday - Friday 6am - 2:30pm

1-2 Weekdays On-Call Required from end of shift until 6am the following morning

Weekend On-Call (Friday end of shift until Monday 6am) every 3rd or 4th Weekend depending on number of staff available to divide call

On-Call Response Time of 30 Minutes Required (Must be able to respond within 30 minutes while on call and remain within a 30-minute travel radius during on-call shifts.)

1 Major and 1 Minor Holiday Required

** Provide exceptional care to Open-Heart Surgery patients at a Level 1 trauma center, supporting 5 cardiac surgeons. Handle 2-3 surgical cases per day, specializing in CABG, valve replacement, and ECMO.

_WellSpan's Intraprocedural Skills Execution (WISE) program provides formal learning opportunities to all perioperative Novice Nurse hires  AORN a Novice Perioperative RN is "any registered nurse who has not worked in the perioperative environment before, including a new graduate, an experienced nurse from another area of nursing, or a nurse with previous perioperative experience who has not maintained basic competency" (AORN, 2022).
