Registered Nurse – Emergency Room

York, PA

Contract | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 3x12-Hour Shifts | Onsite | Weekends and holidays as needed

• Provide direct patient care in a high-volume, Level I Trauma Center Emergency Department with 74 treatment spaces, including a 3-bed trauma bay and a secure behavioral health unit
• Float as needed to the Emergency Transitional Care Unit (ETCU), a 22-bed unit with telemetry capability and negative pressure room availability
• Perform initial nursing interventions and procedures for ED patients, and continue care through disposition in the ETCU as applicable
• Monitor and care for patients undergoing lengthy diagnostic testing, awaiting consultations, or awaiting inpatient bed placement
• Adhere to infection control protocols, including potential care of COVID-positive patients
• Participate in every 3rd weekend rotation as part of standard scheduling requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license with no license hits accepted
• Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Room nursing experience; first-time travelers will not be considered
• Level I Trauma Center experience required
• Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required (AHA or ARC only)
• Ability to float to the Emergency Transitional Care Unit (ETCU) as needed
• Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and night shifts as required

• EPIC electronic health records experience strongly preferred
• Experience in telemetry monitoring and negative pressure room protocols
• Familiarity with Comprehensive Stroke Center and Chest Pain Accredited Center of Excellence care standards
