American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring 2+ years of ED experience and a PA or compact RN license.

• level Trauma Center within a 74-bed Emergency Department, including a 3-bed trauma bay and secure behavioral health unit
• Also includes a comprehensive stroke center and chest pain accredited center of excellence
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to7:30 AM
• Weekend rotation required every 3rd weekend
• Holiday coverage required as needed
• Floating required to the Emergency Transitional Care Unit (ETCU) as needed, a 22-bed telemetry-capable expansion unit with negative pressure rooms

• Active RN license (PA state or compact) required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and PALS required
• NIHSS and TNCC certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years of ED experience required
• Level I Trauma Center experience required
• Level II Trauma Center experience preferred
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Experience with pediatric and adult emergency care across a wide range of conditions including trauma, psychiatric, respiratory, and neurological emergencies

• Provide emergency care to a combined adult/pediatric patient population
• Manage cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and emergency response situations
• Perform triage and apply isolation precautions/PPE as needed
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and management of arterial and central lines
• Experience with ventilator care, BiPAP/CPAP management, and chest tube insertion/management preferred
• Administer emergency medications including vasopressors and procedural sedation
• Care for patients with gunshot wounds, traumatic amputations, and multisystem organ dysfunction
• Facility is tobacco and fragrance free
• Could involve care for COVID-19 patients
• First-time travelers will not be accepted
• Local candidates within 50 miles may be considered at a lower pay rate
