American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring 2+ years of ED experience and a PA or compact RN license.
Details- level Trauma Center within a 74-bed Emergency Department, including a 3-bed trauma bay and secure behavioral health unit
- Also includes a comprehensive stroke center and chest pain accredited center of excellence
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to7:30 AM
- Weekend rotation required every 3rd weekend
- Holiday coverage required as needed
- Floating required to the Emergency Transitional Care Unit (ETCU) as needed, a 22-bed telemetry-capable expansion unit with negative pressure rooms

- Active RN license (PA state or compact) required
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and PALS required
- NIHSS and TNCC certifications preferred
- Minimum 2 years of ED experience required
- Level I Trauma Center experience required
- Level II Trauma Center experience preferred
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- Experience with pediatric and adult emergency care across a wide range of conditions including trauma, psychiatric, respiratory, and neurological emergencies
- Provide emergency care to a combined adult/pediatric patient population
- Manage cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and emergency response situations
- Perform triage and apply isolation precautions/PPE as needed
- Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and management of arterial and central lines
- Experience with ventilator care, BiPAP/CPAP management, and chest tube insertion/management preferred
- Administer emergency medications including vasopressors and procedural sedation
- Care for patients with gunshot wounds, traumatic amputations, and multisystem organ dysfunction
- Facility is tobacco and fragrance free
- Could involve care for COVID-19 patients
- First-time travelers will not be accepted
- Local candidates within 50 miles may be considered at a lower pay rate
- Schedule pairs may be accepted, though matched schedules cannot be guaranteed
