American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift position requiring 2+ years of experience, EPIC proficiency, and a compact or PA RN license.

• Work in the Medical Surgical unit of a hospital setting
• Care for MS/Tele patients including telemetry monitoring, renal failure, and pre/post hemodialysis management
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:00
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• Holiday coverage as needed
• Floating as needed, may include floating to rehab unit
• Uses EPIC EMR system
• May care for COVID-19 patients

• Active RN license (Compact or PA) currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS and NIHSS (ACLS preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy/phlebotomy, central line and PICC line management, and blood product administration
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, high flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomy care
• Experience managing cardiac drips, PCA, and interpreting/managing dysrhythmias
• Skilled in wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE
• Experience with colostomy/ileostomy and feeding tube management
• Experience caring for CVA and substance withdrawal patients

• First-time travelers are accepted for this position
• Must complete required modules prior to start, which typically take 5-6 hours to complete
• Facility is tobacco and fragrance free
• Candidates within 50 miles of the facility are considered local
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract
• No scheduling requests can be approved after initial submission
• Candidates will undergo a clinical pre-screen before being considered by the unit manager
• Travel pairs are accepted, though matched schedules cannot be guaranteed
