American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Surgical ICU position requiring a compact or PA RN license and Epic charting experience.

• Surgical Intensive Care Unit setting with potential floating to all ICU floors
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:00
• 13-week assignment with every-other-weekend requirement
• 1:2 patient ratio
• May care for COVID patients
• No on-call requirements

• Active RN license (Standard or Compact) currently in hand, PA license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA or ARC only)
• TNCC certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, blood product administration, and central line care/management
• Experience with ventilated patients, ABG interpretation, and ETT/NT suctioning required
• Experience with chronic/acute renal failure required, CVVHD/CRRT experience preferred
• Skilled in continuous IV sedation, emergency medications, and titrating vasoactive drips
• Cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills required, Flo Trac/Vigileo monitoring preferred
• Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience managing multisystem organ dysfunction/failure preferred
• GI surgery experience preferred
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE required

• Provide critical care nursing to surgical ICU patients including hemodynamic monitoring, ventilator management, and multisystem organ support
• Expected to work 2 of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's) or 1 of 2 if contract spans fewer holidays
• Expected to work 1 of 2 major upcoming holidays and surrounding days as needed (e.g., Memorial Day or July 4th)
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract
• Tobacco and fragrance-free facility
• Candidates must reside within 50 miles for local rate eligibility
• Local candidates accepted at a reduced rate
• Travel pairs accepted, though matched schedules cannot be guaranteed
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this role
