DELAWARE RIVER BIOLOGIST
Lead research and management of fisheries programs in the Delaware River system, contributing science‑driven decisions to advance freshwater ecosystems. The position oversees studies on fish populations, habitat conditions, and water quality, and coordinates data collection and analysis across the mainstem Delaware, West Branch Delaware, Lehigh (up to Francis
E. Walter Dam), and Schuylkill (up to Fairmount Dam).
- Design and conduct studies on fish populations, habitat, and water quality.
- Analyze data using scientific and statistical methods to interpret survey results.
- Write scientific and technical reports, articles, and presentations summarizing findings.
- Supervise Fisheries and Biologist Aides in data collection, laboratory tasks, and field operations.
- One year experience as a Fisheries Biologist (PFBC) or equivalent professional experience in fish studies plus a bachelor’s degree in a biological science with at least 12 college credits in fish biology or related disciplines.
- Or an equivalent combination of experience and training that includes the same credit requirements.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to perform essential job functions.
- Full‑time employment; 8:00 AM–4:00 PM, Monday–Friday with a 30‑minute lunch break.

Starting salary may be non‑negotiable.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law. Conditional offers require submission of PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI fingerprint clearance.
