Work Schedule

Full-time employment. 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday – Friday, with a 30‑minute lunch break.

Overview

Are you interested in building a career that supports safe workplaces across the state? This role gives you the chance to learn how inspections are done and how safety laws are enforced. You will work with skilled inspectors that will guide you through real field situations.

Responsibilities
  • Assist inspectors with checking boilers and vessels for damage or unsafe conditions.
  • Help perform safety tests on valves and equipment to confirm safe operation.
  • Take part in inspections to confirm work follows approved plans and safety rules.
  • Help prepare detailed findings and submit documentation as required.
  • Assist with follow‑up checks to confirm problems have been corrected.
  • Support investigations of reported incidents involving boilers or pressure vessels.
Qualifications

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of experience in the design, construction, installation, inspection, operation, maintenance, or repair of boilers, unfired pressure vessels, electronic equipment, electrical systems, heavy machinery, motors, engines, drives or hydraulic systems;
    or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirements:

  • Must obtain, within the probationary period, a valid National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspector Commission and a valid Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspector Commission.
  • Must possess an active motor vehicle license.

Other Requirements:

  • You must live in or be willing to relocate to Delaware or Philadelphia County by date of hire. Expenses will not be paid.
  • You must meet the PA residency requirement.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
