Repairs and maintains electric, diesel, and gasoline industrial trucks and/or construction equipment by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Reads work orders and observes and listens to trucks in operation to determine malfunctions and diagnose problems.
- Offers solutions to meet customer specifications and provides estimates when appropriate.
- Makes mechanical repairs to equipment after a complete inspection and analysis of breakdowns.
- Records a complete repair description on work orders, including the correct model and serial number of equipment and hour‑meter readings.
- Obtains signatures from customers and communicates with them regarding repair needs or completed work.
- Examines protective guards, loose bolts, and safety devices on trucks, making necessary adjustments.
- Lubricates moving parts and drives repaired trucks to verify conformance to specifications.
- Represents Equipment Depot to customers, maintaining a professional image and cleanliness of the van at all times.
- Tracks and schedules routine maintenance or other service-related issues with operations or the service manager.
- Works in a manner that protects customers, Equipment Depot, and the public.
- Returns paperwork to the field service coordinator daily; includes work orders, fuel receipts, and sublet invoices.
- Submits time cards by 9:00 a.m. daily; if dispatched from home, calls the service administrator by 9:00 a.m. with time information.
- SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Education:
High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED). - Experience:
One to three months of related experience and/or training, or a combination of education and experience. - Computer
Skills:
Knowledge of internet software. - Certificates & Licenses:
Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record. - Language:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; write routine reports and correspondence; speak effectively before groups of customers or employees. - Math:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; compute rate, ratio, and percent; draw and interpret bar graphs. - Reasoning:
Apply common sense to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form; solve problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
