Overview
The County Caseworker 2 position with Potter County Children & Youth Services is a great fit for someone who wants to make a real impact in the lives of children and families. This position allows you to work closely with your community and use your strengths to help others find stability. This position focuses on supporting the safety and stability of children and families through direct community involvement and careful case management. As a County Caseworker 2, you will perform the following duties:
Responsibilities- Case Investigation: Conduct investigations of General Protective Services and Child Protective Services referrals
- Caseload Management: Handle an assigned caseload and provide ongoing support to children and families
- Agency
Collaboration:
Work with community groups and statewide partners to coordinate needed resources - Service Coordination: Connect families with appropriate services and interventions
- Documentation Accuracy: Maintain timely and accurate records in the statewide information system
- Full-time employment.
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- On-call and overtime are required.
- Travel is required.

- Six months of experience as a County Caseworker 1
- Successful completion of the County Social Casework Intern program
- A bachelor's degree with a social welfare major
- A bachelor's degree which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences and one year of professional social casework experience in a public or private social service agency
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences
- Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within two months of graduating with a qualifying degree or credits.
- PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
- You must pass a background investigation.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law. Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
