The Trauma Performance Improvement Coordinator supports the Trauma Program by overseeing the coordination and ongoing management of the Trauma Performance Improvement and Patient Safety (PIPS) Program in alignment with Pennsylvania Trauma Systems Foundation (PTSF) Standards of Accreditation. Working under the Trauma Program Manager and in collaboration with the Trauma Program Medical Director and multidisciplinary clinical teams, this role ensures continuous evaluation of trauma care, timely case review, event identification, loop closure, and accurate documentation throughout the PI process.
The PI coordinator analyzes trauma data, identifies trends, participates in corrective actions discussions, and helps drive system‑wide improvements that enhance patient outcomes and maintain trauma center accreditation readiness.
This position requires providing service in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individual served (ALL AGES).
Education/Training/Experience- Registered Nurse licensed in Pennsylvania;
Bachelor of Science in Nursing required. - Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in Emergency Medicine, Trauma, or Critical Care.
- At least 3 years of experience in quality or performance improvement preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects and coordinate multidisciplinary initiatives.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis and strong problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and database management systems.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience with performance improvement methodologies (e.g., PDSA) preferred.
