** Summary
* * This is the entry level of the Engineering classification hierarchy. Employees at this entry level solve problems in engineering areas of specialization with close supervision. Incumbents are expected to develop skills, and the ability to work with greater independence. They have knowledge of fundamental concepts and procedures.  They will develop civil/structural engineering specific solutions in support of plant activities, both emergent and scheduled, including, but not limited to scoping and development of design packages for plant modifications, pipe stress analyses, pipe hanger/support design and modifications, maintenance support activities such as lifting/rigging evaluations and independent reviews of peer prepared engineering products.
** Responsibilities
* ** Provides engineering/technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis and resolution of routine problems in area of expertise.
* Prepares thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations and sketches associated with the resolution of routine technical problems.
* Assists in the accomplishment of business goals and objectives through effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling and monitoring of work activities under the guidance of higher-level employees.
* Conducts basic engineering studies requiring little evaluation or ingenuity.
* Possesses knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures.
* Develops positive working relationships to effectively coordinate work activities. Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills. Maintains accurate records and files.
* Supports the company's goals and represents the company positively and professionally.
** Basic/

Required Qualifications:

**** Nuclear Engineer I
*** Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
* A Master 's degree in Engineering will be considered in lieu of a Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
* 0-2 years of engineering experience.
** Nuclear Engineer II
*** Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
* A Master 's degree in Engineering will be considered in lieu of a Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
* 2-4 years of engineering experience.
* Minimum of 1 year of nuclear experience.
** Desired Qualifications
*** Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (Not Technology) from an ABET accredited program.
* Background in pipe stress analysis with a willingness to perform/learn ASME B31.1 and ASME Section III pipe stress analysis
* Understanding of basic engineering theories and principles.
* Understanding of basic practices of researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, making sound recommendations and preparing and presenting recommendations.
* Ability to deal with a variety of individuals from various socio-economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
* Experience in the utility industry.
* Good written and oral communication skills.
* Passing grade on the Engineering Fundamentals Exam and desire to complete PE license.
* Understanding of basic principles of project management.

*** In lieu of 1 year of nuclear experience, a selected candidate is subject to the oversight and written approval authority of a designated qualified individual until the selected candidate becomes fully qualified.
