We're looking for a highly experienced Civil Design Engineer Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support complex engineering activities within a nuclear environment.

This is a senior-level technical role designed for an engineer with 15+ years of civil engineering discipline experience who brings specialized subject matter expertise and can independently solve complex engineering problems with limited supervision.

The Civil Design Engineer SME will provide advanced engineering expertise on increasingly complex and varied assignments. This individual will apply established engineering concepts, principles, and procedures while using their depth of experience to evaluate challenges, develop solutions, and provide technical guidance.

The ideal candidate is an experienced civil engineering professional who has developed unique SME-level technical expertise and is comfortable operating with a high degree of independence.

• Solve complex engineering problems within the civil engineering discipline.
• Apply advanced engineering concepts, principles, and procedures to increasingly complex assignments.
• Evaluate technical challenges and develop appropriate engineering solutions.
• Perform work independently with limited supervision.
• Provide specialized civil engineering subject matter expertise.
• Exercise sound engineering judgment when evaluating complex or varied technical issues.
• Support engineering activities and technical decision-making as required.
• Continue developing and applying advanced technical skills within the area of specialization.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned Civil Design Engineer with 15+ years of experience who has progressed beyond general engineering responsibilities into a recognized area of technical specialization. They are comfortable taking ownership of complex engineering challenges, working independently, and serving as a technical resource on highly specialized engineering matters.

Nuclear industry experience would be particularly relevant to the environment; however, the provided requirements specifically emphasize 15+ years of discipline experience and unique SME-level skills.
