Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct supervision and care for residents during daily routines and activities.
  • Support youth with independent living skills, coping strategies, and treatment goals.
  • Create, lead, and participate in age‑appropriate, therapeutic, recreational, and educational activities.
  • Accompany and supervise residents during appointments, outings, and community activities.
  • Monitor behavior, provide guidance and support, and assist with behavior modification plans.
  • Complete required documentation, including shift notes, logs, reports, and bed checks.
  • Respond to and help de‑escalate crisis situations using approved trauma‑informed techniques.
  • Assist with daily household responsibilities, including meals, cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe environment.
  • Ensure compliance with agency policies, licensing standards, and safety requirements.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required (additional education preferred)
  • Prior experience working with children or youth in any setting (residential care, childcare, education, mentoring, babysitting, etc.) required
  • Valid driver's license required and must be maintained throughout employment
  • Ability to work extended or irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of residential care, including standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and responding quickly in emergencies
  • Willingness to complete all required agency, licensing, and regulatory trainings (including CARE and Non‑Violent Crisis Intervention)
