Due to the operational demands and seniority of this role, applications will only be considered from candidates with recent senior leadership experience within a comparable four‑star (or above) hotel, together with a strong operational Food & Beverage background. Experience leading large hotel operations, including Rooms, Meetings & Events and Food & Beverage, is essential.

The Role – Hotel Manager (12‑Month Fixed‑Term Maternity Cover)

Reporting directly to the General Manager, you'll be responsible for the day‑to‑day leadership of hotel operations, ensuring every department consistently delivers exceptional guest experiences while achieving strong commercial performance.

Working in partnership with the General Manager, you'll provide strategic and operational leadership across the hotel, driving performance, developing talent and embedding a culture of accountability, collaboration and service excellence.

This is a highly visible, hands‑on leadership role where you'll lead from the front, supporting your teams, engaging with guests and setting the standard every day.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the day‑to‑day operation of the hotel across Rooms and Food & Beverage.
  • Support the General Manager in delivering the hotel's commercial and strategic objectives.
  • Directly manage, coach and develop Heads of Department.
  • Drive exceptional guest satisfaction through consistent operational excellence.
  • Lead, motivate and inspire teams to achieve outstanding results.
  • Deliver effective succession planning and talent development across the hotel.
  • Manage payroll, labour costs, budgets and departmental profitability.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency while maintaining exceptional guest service.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, brand standards and all statutory requirements.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive culture where colleagues feel valued, supported and empowered to succeed.
About You

You'll be a confident, engaging and commercially minded hotel leader who is passionate about developing people and delivering outstanding hospitality.

To succeed in this role, you'll have:

  • Significant senior operational leadership experience within a comparable four‑star (or above) hotel.
  • Previous experience as a Hotel Manager, Deputy General Manager or Operations Manager in a large, full‑service hotel.
  • A strong Food & Beverage background is essential, including experience overseeing busy restaurants, bars, conferences, banqueting and events.
  • A solid understanding of Rooms Division, ensuring seamless delivery across the entire guest journey.
