Location
West Yorkshire, South Yorkshire and North Yorkshire region with travel required to all site locations.
Hours40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8:00am – 4:30pm (can be worked flexibly to meet the needs of the business & successful candidate).
Salary£14.61 per hour.

Role OverviewReporting to the Water Hygiene Supervisor, the Water Hygiene Technician will be responsible for delivering all aspects of the water hygiene program. Tasks vary from taking water samples and monitoring temperatures to assisting with cleaning and disinfecting systems. The technician will ensure high standards of task completion, paperwork and regulatory compliance at all times. The role involves mobile working from customer sites across Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and the North East.
A company vehicle, tablet, tools and phone are provided.
- Planned and reactive maintenance as required; responding to all allocated task requests ensuring jobs are completed within allocated service level agreements.
- Routine water hygiene monitoring.
- Tank and pipework insulation inspections.
- Sampling when required.
- Shower cleaning and disinfecting.
- Flushing of expansion vessels when required.
- TMV maintenance including cleans, temperature checks and replacements.
- Basic building inspections/operational checks to include emergency lights, fire extinguishers and weekly fire alarm testing.
- Health & Safety duties; ensuring tasks are completed safely and legally by following risk assessments and method statements.
- Liaising daily with customers to complete tasks and gain access to areas with minimal disruption.
- Supporting other areas of the business where required.
- Keeping up to date with current regulations and any changes that occur.
- Checking paperwork regularly and updating tasks as required.
Essential:
- Satisfactory Enhanced DBS check.
- Good understanding of hot and cold-water systems.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Positive and professional attitude.
- Computer literacy.
- Good organisational skills with ability to prioritise a variety of tasks.
- Positive approach to learning, development and progression.
- Flexible outlook towards hours worked (some out of hours may be required).
- Knowledge of current Health and Safety practice and ability to promote an effective Health & Safety culture.
Desirable:
- First‑aid at work trained.
- Trade background or building knowledge.
- NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing.
