We are working with our prestigious national client who are looking for an experienced Fire Alarm & Emergency Lighting Service Engineer to join their growing team covering the York area. The successful candidate will ideally be based in York.

The Role
As a Fire Alarm & Emergency Lighting Service Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance, fault finding, repairs, remedial works, and reactive call-outs across a range of fire alarm and emergency lighting systems.
Working as part of the dedicated service team, you will play a vital role in ensuring customers life safety systems remain fully operational, compliant, and maintained to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out routine servicing and maintenance of fire alarm and emergency lighting systems.
Diagnose and rectify faults efficiently and effectively.
Complete repairs, upgrades, and remedial works where required.
Assess system performance and provide recommendations for improvements.
Complete all service documentation, job sheets, risk assessments, and reports accurately.
Deliver excellent customer service and maintain strong client relationships.
Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with relevant industry standards and regulations.
Manage company tools, equipment, and materials responsibly.
Support colleagues and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Assist with audits, inspections, and compliance requirements when required.
Essential Requirements
Proven experience as a Fire Alarm Service Engineer
Read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
Diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently
Deliver excellent customer service
Experience with Installation and commissioning of fire alarm systems
Full UK Driving Licence
Essential Knowledge
Fire Alarm Systems
Emergency Lighting Systems
Service, Maintenance and Fault Finding
Desirable Skills
Experience in any of the following would be highly advantageous:
CCTV Systems
Access Control Systems
Intruder Alarm Systems
Security System Installation, Service and Maintenance
Security System Commissioning
