AboutOur Opportunity
As Regional Enforcement Coordinator, you will be a vital member of the Conservation Officer Service Management Team and report to the Regional Enforcement Manager. The work you do will help us achieve our Departmental objectives for enforcement program delivery across the province. Program delivery includes the enforcement mandates of the Department of Natural Resources and the Department of Aquaculture and Fisheries.
The Conservation Officer Service’s overall mandate supports the effective delivery of broad departmental programs including aquaculture, fish buying and processing, parks and outdoor recreation, forest protection, land administration and wildlife.
As the Regional Enforcement Coordinator, you will assist the regional enforcement manager with the overall delivery or provision of either a single service or group of common services including the development, monitoring, and adherence to operational procedures and standards, hiring, selection, scheduling and performance management.
Primary AccountabilitiesThe Department of Natural Resources is seeking a dynamic Regional Enforcement Coordinator to lead enforcement program delivery. Through the effective leadership of conservation officers and resources, you will be responsible for the efficient delivery including the management of staff.
Some Of The Primary Accountabilities In This Role Include- Delivering outcomes by coordinating operational plans with others and working within established systems.
- Review and report on the effectiveness of operations.
- Monitoring of resources through effective communication and performance management to enhance department program delivery.
- Providing input into the development of procedures for an area within the department, then monitoring the implementation of those procedures.
- Ensuring appropriate quality and risk management processes are followed, and suggesting improvements in current processes, systems, and procedures.
- Delivering a plan for internal communications with guidance from senior colleagues.
To be considered for this opportunity, you have completed a related, post‑secondary education, a Natural Resources Enforcement program (or equivalent) and hold a minimum of 8 years of related experience in resource enforcement management, including administration and leadership roles. An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered.
Frequent travel across the province is a component of this position; as such, a valid driver’s license is required.
This position requires wearing a uniform and carrying and annually certifying duty equipment, including sidearm, OC spray, baton, and handcuffs. Previous training and/or certification with this equipment must be provided.
The successful candidate must undergo and pass security clearance, psychological testing and be appointed as a Special Constable.
In Addition, You Have Previous Experience- Building a high performing team, ensuring the team is focused, motivated, and inspired to achieve team objectives.
- Providing guidance and training to others on planning, organizing, prioritizing, and overseeing activities to meet operational objectives.
- Managing operation plans and/or program through the departments work plan to ensure they meet the desired cost, time, and quality parameters.
