Position: Senior Financial Reporting Accountant (CPA)

Aim Transportation Solutions is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Financial Reporting Accountant to join our finance team in Youngstown, Ohio. This position plays a key role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of the company's financial reporting while supporting critical accounting operations across a growing, multi-entity organization.

The ideal candidate is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with strong technical accounting expertise, experience leading complex reconciliations and financial reporting activities, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • General Ledger and Close process
  • Lead assigned portions of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and adjusting entries.
  • Maintain the integrity and accuracy of the general ledger.
  • Ensure adherence to standardized close procedures and supporting documentation requirements.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Analyze financial results and investigate variances compared to budget and prior periods.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reporting schedules and disclosures.
  • Ensure consistency and accuracy in reporting across multiple business entities.
  • Technical Accounting & Compliance
  • Research and apply U.S. GAAP guidance to accounting transactions and reporting matters.
  • Support the implementation of new accounting standards and policies.
  • Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and internal controls.
  • Balance Sheet & Account Ownership
  • Complete timely and accurate balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Perform detailed account analyses and reconciliation reviews.
  • Proactively identify and resolve discrepancies and accounting issues.
  • Audit & Internal Controls
  • Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation for external auditors.
  • Respond to audit requests and inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Support compliance with internal control requirements.
  • Assist in strengthening accounting controls, procedures, and documentation.
  • Process Improvement & Systems
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability within accounting processes.
  • Assist in developing standardized procedures and workflows.
  • Support ERP implementations, system upgrades, and automation initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience with significant general ledger and financial reporting responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated experience managing month-end close processes and preparing financial statements.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience working within ERP-based accounting systems.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines and work independently.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in transportation, trucking, leasing, logistics, or other asset-intensive industries.
  • Experience operating within multi-entity or multi-state organizations.
  • Experience with financial consolidations and supporting external audits.
  • Experience leading accounting process improvements or system implementations.
