About the role:
The office and marketing assistant - cvb provides comprehensive administrative and operational support to the mahoning county convention and visitors bureau department. This role supports daily office functions, maintains organized administrative systems, coordinates communications, and assists the director with departmental activities and countywide cvb and marketing initiatives. The position ensures smooth workflow, timely communication, accurate documentation, and adherence to county policies and procedures.
All functions must be performed in accordance with the ohio revised code (orc), applicable administrative rules, bmcc core values, and county policies.

Key responsibilities:
* support destination marketing initiatives and tourism promotion efforts.
* develop and manage digital, print, and multimedia marketing content.
* coordinate social media strategy, content creation, and audience engagement.
* assist with website content management, analytics reporting, and email marketing campaigns.
* research industry trends and contribute to creative and promotional projects
* provide administrative support to ensure efficient daily office operations.
* manage calendars, meetings, correspondence, records, and visitor inquiries.
* coordinate purchasing, budget tracking, and routine financial documentation.
* process and fulfill tourism information requests and maintain related records.
* serve as a professional point of contact for visitors, stakeholders, vendors, and the public.
* prepare reports, correspondence, meeting materials, and other business communications.
* support outreach efforts and maintain positive relationships with tourism partners.
* assist with special projects, group tours, trade shows, meetings, and tourism-related events.
* represent the cvb at community, industry, and board meetings as assigned.
* support lodging tax administration, hotel registrations, and related tourism programs.
* maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and ensure compliance with applicable policies and regulations.
* support process improvement initiatives, workflow enhancements, and records management practices.
* assist with data collection, research, reporting, and departmental documentation.
* provide backup support to departmental staff and leadership.
* participate in staff training, professional development, and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
* associate's degree in business, marketing, advertising, communications or graphic design with strong emphasis on marketing/social media marketing/digital marketing (bachelor's preferred).
* two (2) to five (5) years of experience in marketing, communications, graphic design, or related work, preferably in a government or public-sector environment.
* valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
