Bolt is headquartered in Youngstown, Ohio.
We regularly provide our services throughout the tri‑state area of Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia, and occasionally beyond these states.
The Industrial Superintendent directs and supervises field crews and leads construction of complex industrial piping projects for natural gas facilities and airport hydrant fueling systems. This role ensures work is completed safely, on schedule, and in compliance with project specifications and company standards. The Industrial Superintendent position requires hands‑on involvement, documenting progress, and executing projects. The Industrial Superintendent works directly with Project Managers, the Director of Field Operations, and the President of Bolt Construction.
This is a full‑time position and requires 70% travel. The standard schedule is four 10‑hour days (4/10). As with many construction and industrial projects, overtime, occasional evening or night work, and weekend shifts may be required to meet customer needs and project deadlines. Typical work hours are 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with a 30‑minute lunch break, subject to change based on project needs.
The Industrial Superintendent position will set the work schedule as necessary to maintain project plans and coordinate the schedules with the responsible parties. Work hours begin and end at the assigned project site.
The Industrial Superintendent’s physical demands may include lifting, pushing, pulling, and/or carrying objects. Responsibilities- First one on the job site and last to leave
- All daily construction activities on assigned job sites, along with all workers’ safety, quality of work, and timely completion of their job assignments.
- Maintain daily logs for every project and communicate with management
- Track and submit employee work hours
- Coordinate lodging (if needed) for the crew
- Conduct daily toolbox meetings
- Five (5) years of successfully working on large‑scale construction projects consisting of Industrial Piping.
- Five (5) years of successfully performing first‑line supervision as a general foreman for heavy construction
- Two (2) years of successful experience performing duties equivalent to a construction superintendent (highly preferred Industrial Piping)
- Experience building Natural Gas Facilities
- Experience working on Airport Hydrant Fueling construction projects
- Willingness to travel 70% and as needed
- Availability to work out of town and out of state for weekly or bi‑weekly periods.
- Availability to work (occasional) weekends, overtime, night, and/or unscheduled overtime
- Physically able to perform construction supervisory work without restrictions.
- Able to lift and carry 60 pounds
- OSHA 30‑Hour Construction Card (or willingness to obtain; company provides)
- Maintain a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
