The YSU Department of Chemistry has comprised of 14 full-time faculty, 12 adjunct & part‑time faculty, 5 staff members, over 100 majors in its BS and BA programs, and an active MS program with 20 students. The department is exceptionally well-equipped in research instrumentation and offers rich, hands‑on 'learning through research' experience for its students. As part of the College of STEM, the department also participates in the YSU Ph.D. program in Materials Science & Engineering.

The Chemistry Department is seeking qualified applicants for part‑time lab instructor by semester for General Chemistry or other related courses as needed.

Plans, organizes, teaches, and provides feedback to promote and direct student success. Responds to students promptly. Communicates with students, departments, and university officials via university-provided tools and resources.

Ability to contribute to the diversity, cultural sensitivity, and excellence of the University community through teaching.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • At least a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a closely related field, current enrollment in an MS/Chemistry or closely related program, and authorization to work in the United States on a full‑time basis.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in teaching college‑level Chemistry Labs.
