Summary of PositionThis position oversees YSU’s online graduate programs that prepare licensed K‑12 school principals and superintendents. Responsibilities include instruction, advising, collection and monitoring of assessment data, monitoring of internship site placements, administration of comprehensive exams, verification of degree completion and eligibility for licensure, and coordination with the department chair and administrative specialist on all matters related to the successful functioning of the two programs.
Depending on qualifications, the person appointed to this position may also teach in the educational doctoral program, advise doctoral candidates, and sit on dissertation committees. Specific assignments may vary by semester based on program needs as determined by the department chair.
Plans, organizes, teaches, and provides feedback to promote and direct student success. Responds to students in a timely manner. Communicates with students, departments, and university officials via university‑provided tools and resources.
Qualifications and Competencies- Required Certifications, Training, and/or Licensures:

This position is not eligible for sponsorship. - Minimum Qualifications:
Earned doctoral degree in educational leadership or administration or related field; minimum three years of successful experience in K‑12 school leadership at either building or district level. - Preferred Qualifications:
Ohio principal and/or superintendent license; successful teaching experience in higher education; successful online teaching experience; demonstrated record of success in teaching doctoral students and supporting dissertation work.
Position is expected to begin August 2026 (fall semester).
