Principal Responsibilities:
The Early Learning Center Director will contribute to the vision, mission, and values of the Youngstown Area Jewish Federation by directing and developing the Early Learning Center, with standards of excellence, maximizing both a return on mission and on investment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Supervise and manage all operations and staff of the Early Learning CenterCreate and actively promote an environment where every child and family is treated with dignity and respect, in a friendly, personalized mannerRecruit, hire, train, and provide supervision to all staff members, ELC Operations Manager, and Administrative AssistantManage department services in accordance with all appropriate standards and health, safety, and licensing regulations set by the Ohio Department of Job and other governing agenciesPrepare and monitor budgets and engage in ongoing planning and business development—ensuring financials are reconciled monthly and up-to-dateCheck weekly staff schedules, while balancing sick, PTO, and staff call-offs on correlating documentation through Paylocity. All scheduled report offs must be approved by Wednesday the week before the schedule is out.Conduct all teacher/staff evaluations and observations twice a yearMaintain student yearly transition census and plan transitions quarterly with Operations Manager—or as often as neededMaintain all licensing and Step Up to Quality required paperwork and update annuallyMonitor all Lead teachers Anecdotal note taking and ensure checkpoints are completed twice a year using Teaching Strategies Gold and Creative CurriculumDevelop and implement a school calendar that includes holidays, ELC closing days, and professional development trainingConduct bi-monthly staff meetings to create culture building and ensure licensing requirements are met for staff developmentMonitor OCQLS and OCCRRA (monthly) to ensure licensing needs are metEfficiently develop lines of business to maximize revenue and mission by developing strategies for retention of existing families and recruitment and cultivation of new families, including regular solicitation of family feedback and evaluation of programmingCoordinate with marketing department to ensure an effective marketing of programs, distributing and promoting to current and prospective familiesCoordinate with Facility & Maintenance department to ensure a high level of cleanliness and appropriate maintenance of early learning facilities, including classrooms, playgrounds, and ancillary program spaceConnect with community partners to provide enrichment programs, intervention, conduct weekly Shabbat, and center visitsEnsure the JCC Early Learning Center follows the early learning framework provided by the Jewish Community Centers Association of North America's Sheva Center of Innovation in Early Childhood Jewish Education and EngagementCommunicate and cooperate with colleagues, members, and lay leaders as part of the Early Learning team, including attending or facilitating staff meetings as neededMaintain a high level of applicable professional knowledge, including market analysis, current trends and best practices through ongoing professional education, investigation and development of relationships with colleagues and official entitiesAdhere to all JCC and departmental policiesPerform other responsibilities as deemed appropriate by the Executive DirectorWork with other departments and families to help transition Preschool students and families to other areas within the JCC and Federation agencies after graduation.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in related fields required. Must have three or more years of experience teaching and/or leading in an educational setting. Must possess strong leadership skills (good organization, ability to problem solve, think creatively, and manage multiple projects at once). Ability to discuss sensitive and confidential information with parents and staff. Candidates must be able to pass an FBI/BCI background check and drug screen.
The ideal candidate will enjoy working with children ages six weeks and up and have a high level of interpersonal communication skills.
Salary:
$65,000 - $75,000
