Additional InformationPart‑time faculty are pooled positions; appointments are made on an as needed/rolling basis.
Summary of PositionTeach by semester for entry‑level mathematics and statistics courses, including, but not limited to, undergraduate‑level general education statistics, college algebra, quantitative reasoning, or trigonometry. Develop and deliver face‑to‑face, hybrid, and online instruction in mathematics and statistics.
Position InformationWork Schedule:
Typically, Monday through Friday. Teaching assignments may be remote or at YSU Campus.
Plans, organizes, teaches, and provides feedback to promote and direct student success. Responds to students in a timely manner. Communicates with students, departments, and university officials via university provided tools and resources.
Qualifications and CompetenciesRequired Certifications, Training, and/or Licensures: Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis.
Minimum Qualifications: At least a master’s degree in mathematics or master’s degree in a related field with eighteen graduate hours in mathematics, statistics, or data analytics. Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis.
Preferred Qualifications: Prior college‑level teaching experience or appropriate K‑12 teaching certification. Proficiency with instructional tools and technology. Experience teaching online courses or experience with Web Assign, My Labs Plus /My Math Lab and/or Assessment and Learning in Knowledge Spaces (ALEKS).
Physical RequirementsIn accordance with the U.S. Department of Labor physical demands strength ratings, this position will perform sedentary work. Sedentary: work involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
Jobs may be defined as Sedentary when walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other Sedentary criteria are met.
