Part-time Faculty, Theatre and Dance - Dana School of Music and University Theatre

Summary of Position

Teach undergraduate courses in Theatre and/or Dance as assigned by the department chair. Responsibilities include developing and submitting course syllabi, planning and updating curriculum, delivering engaging instruction, assessing student performance, and submitting grades in accordance with university deadlines. Regular communication with students, support departmental goals, and collaborate with faculty colleagues to foster a dynamic learning environment.

Position Information

Plans, organizes, teaches, and provides feedback to promote and direct student success. Responds to students in a timely manner. Communicates with students, departments, and university officials via university provided tools and resources.

Work Schedule:

Typically, Monday through Friday. Teaching assignments may be remote or at various locations.

Qualifications and Competencies

Required Certifications, Training, and/or Licensures:
None

Sponsorship and/or Work Authorization Status:
Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Minimum Qualifications:

At least an earned bachelor's degree in dance, theatre arts, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

An earned Master of Arts (M.A.), Master of Fine Arts (M.F.A.), or Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Theatre or Dance. Demonstrated experience teaching acting, play writing, directing, or dance.

Physical Requirements:

In accordance with the U.S. Department of Labor physical demands strength ratings, this position will perform medium work.

Medium: work involves exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, or an amount greater than negligible and up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
