Part-time Faculty, Communication, Journalism and Content Creation, Multimedia Communication

Locations:
Youngstown, OH;
Steubenville, OH;
Remote assignments possible.

• Teach foundational public speaking, introductory communication studies courses, and/or courses in media production, journalism, and content creation.
• Plan, organize, and deliver course content; assess student progress; provide constructive feedback.
• Respond promptly to student inquiries and communicate with students, departments, and university officials using university‑provided tools.
• Promote and direct student success in a student‑centered environment.

Typically Monday through Friday. Assignments may be remote or at YSU’s main location in Youngstown, Ohio, or the Steubenville, Ohio location.

• Minimum Qualifications: Earned bachelor’s degree in communication, media, journalism, or a related field; significant professional experience in professional communication and/or media experience, as defined by higher learning commission criteria; currently authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis.
• Preferred Qualifications: Earned master’s degree in communication, media studies, journalism, or a related field.
• Must have valid US work authorization for full‑time employment.

Position requires sedentary work; may involve exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.

• At time of hire, provide official transcripts in an unopened, sealed envelope bearing the embossed or raised college seal, date, and Registrar’s signature.
