Position

Part‑time Faculty, Political Science – Humanities and Social Sciences (multiple locations).

Youngstown State University – Ohio.

• Plan, organize, teach and assess courses in legal studies, including law and society and state and local government, with a preference for expertise in how legal systems work and how legal processes and laws affect society.
• Provide regular in‑person instruction as required and participate in departmental collaboration.
• Promote and direct student success by giving timely feedback and responding to student inquiries.
• Communicate with students, departments, and university officials via university‑provided tools.

Typically Monday through Friday. Teaching assignments may be made at Youngstown, Steubenville, or for remote courses. Must be able to provide regular in‑person instruction as assigned.

• Minimum Qualifications: Earned master’s degree in political science or law; able to teach constitutional law, government (local/state/federal level), and related theoretical classes; must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis.
• Preferred Qualifications: Teaching experience, both in‑person and online.
• Required Certifications, Training, and/or Licensures: None.
• Sponsorship and/or Work Authorization Status: Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis.

Work is mostly sedentary. The position may involve exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. The position requires sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods.
