Job Title

OAPSE Transfer Bid Requests

Contract

Hours:

5.75-hours per day

Report Times: 8:15 am to 2:00 pm

Salary: $15.73 starting hourly rate with annual step increases in accordance with the OAPSE negotiated agreement.

Contract Benefits: accumulated paid sick time, three (3) paid personal days per school year, paid holidays and calamity days

Reports To:

Building Principals and Special Education Director

Evaluations:
Performance evaluated annually in accordance with the OAPSE negotiated agreement.

Please Note:

Due to the specific demands of the position a 20-day probation period will be implemented regardless of the same classification transfer; following the probationary period the CSP will not be permitted to transfer into any new position until a substitute or replacement is found in accordance with the negotiated agreement.

Duties and Responsibilities

Monitor student(s) individually, in small or large groups in a variety of circumstances relating to the school environment

Lifting, stabilizing, and assisting student(s) in accordance with IEP, 504, or medical action plans

Assist with special care of students such as toileting, personal hygiene, seizures, recess, and lunch

Maintain a high level of confidentiality

Provide leadership by enforcing pupil behavior set forth by the building principal

Ensure the student are in a safe, secure environment at all times

Employ a variety of strategies to manage student behavior and conflict

Assist in classroom management duties including small group instruction

Must possess technology skills to assist the student with assistive technology

Subject to all applicable laws, essential job functions of the position include the employee being punctual and capable of completing all of the duties of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation

Requirements

Current favorable BCII (State) and FBI (Federal) background check

Enrolled in Rapback through ODEW Ohio Educational Aide Permit with ESEA endorsement

Fraud Prevention Training

Negative drug screen

Employees must follow all board policies, all state, and federal laws, and adhere to the Ohio Code of Ethics set up by the Ohio Department of Education.

The successful candidate must complete all required compliance courses as assigned.
