Responsibilities- Serving as a technical resource for clients – answering product, capability, and application questions with a sales‑oriented focus.
- Designing portions of factory automation systems.
- Presenting product demonstrations and participating in sales presentations.
- Coordinating and scheduling technical training for customers and sales personnel.
- Documenting all technical projects: customer’s existing equipment/process, operating difficulties, proposals, design schematics, and installation details.
- Researching technical information to evaluate product performance and application, and maintaining current product literature.
- Providing detailed product specifications, schematics, and designs; answering incoming technical calls; documenting customer problems and developing solutions.
- Communicating product parameters and performance standards to inform customers of capabilities.
The NEFF Field Applications Engineer splits work between customer sites and office. In the office, you’ll design and bench‑test integrated automation solutions. In the field, you’ll give technical sales presentations, product demonstrations, training, and show customers applications you help create.
SpecialSkills and Abilities
Required
- Strong customer focus and communication skills.
- Solid analytical ability and mechanical engineering aptitude.
- Confidence for sales presentations, product demonstrations, and training sessions.
- Team‑player mindset.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field.
- Knowledge/Classes in Robotics (UR, Kawasaki, Fanuc) – selection, programming, deployment, troubleshooting.
- Knowledge/Classes in Machine Vision – selection, programming, deployment, troubleshooting.
- Knowledge/Classes in Motion Control (Motors, Drives, Actuators, etc.) – selection, programming, deployment, troubleshooting.
- Knowledge/Classes in PLC/Ladder Logic and other control products helpful but not required.
