Nova Care Rehabilitation is seeking a passionate Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) to provide care for our athletes. This position will support Youngstown State University's softball and football programs. The primary sports assignment for this role is softball, with football as secondary. Other coverages or assignments are as necessary per the YSU Director of Sports Medicine.
Position Details- Position: Certified Athletic Trainer
- Location: 1 Tressel Way, Youngstown, OH 44555
- Type of Employment: Full-time
- Schedule: Weekdays/Weekends, Typical Collegiate ATC hours
- Compensation: Starting at $55,000 per year, commensurate with experience

- Design and implement specific therapeutic programs for injured athletes’ rehabilitation.
- Determine the need for and administer proper athletic training techniques before and during games/practices to decrease injury risk (including taping, wrapping, bracing, hydration, and minor wound care).
- Determine the effectiveness of athletic training/rehabilitative techniques and record change as indicated by athlete response within limits of the specified plan of care.
- Manage emergency incidents, coordinate EMS and acute care procedures including basic life support to reduce the impact on function of an injured athlete.
- Seek outreach opportunities and participate in events to promote the organization (races, club teams, etc.).
- Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree
- National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) Board of Certification (BOC)
- At least 2 years of Athletic Training experience
- CPR certification
- Applicable state license where required
- Master’s degree
