It’s retail pharmacy with a twist. Current business hours are M-F, 8:30am-5pm (lunch break), Saturdays 10am-4pm (weekend rotation), and closed on major holidays. 32 hours/week. Job SummaryThe Certified Pharmacy Technician provides pharmacy services, including preparing pharmaceuticals, performing inventory control and compliance audits, handling financial transactions, delivering customer service, and maintaining pharmacy records. Works as part of an interdisciplinary patient care team under the direction of the Pharmacist.
Essential Functions- Receiving and verifying the accuracy and authenticity of prescriptions
- Reviewing and recording patient information with their prescription in compliance with guidelines
- Providing instructions to educate people on how to take their medicine
- Supporting the Pharmacist in the daily operation of the pharmacy
- Protecting employees and patients by adhering to infection-control protocols and policies
- Other duties as assigned
- High School Degree or GED
- Valid ExCPT Certification provided by the National Health career Association or Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification and registration with State Board of Pharmacy (required)
- Previous experience in Retail, Ambulatory, Outpatient, Hospital, Acute Care, or Home Infusion Pharmacy (preferred)
- Ability to be proactive in a rapidly changing environment
- Engage with staff and patients in a professional manner
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of pharmacy terminology, medication names, and aseptic technique
