Infection Preventionist Nurse

Briarfield Health Care Centers is seeking a

Infection Preventionist (IP)
Nurse

to join our team at Briarfield Place!

The IP nurse is responsible for organizing, developing and directing infection prevention within our facility in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations that govern our facility to ensure that the highest degree of infection prevention and quality care is maintained at all times.

The IP is responsible for the effective direction, management, and operation of the infection prevention program, including the education of facility staff members and independent practitioners, and consults with local and state health departments. The IP is responsible for the facility's activities aimed at preventing healthcare-associated infections (HAIs), tracking lab results and ATB stewardship. This position also oversees quality assurance within the facility and works with all departments to ensure exceptional care is provided to each patient during their stay.

The IP:

• Completes community wide audits
• Tracks vaccinations
• Tracks and trends infections, puts interventions into place
• Completes rounds with our Medical Director
• Follows up on labs and new orders
• Completes admissions
• Assists in scheduling resident appointments and transportation
• Participates in the on-call rotation

Required

Education and Experience:

Must be an Ohio Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.

Two or more years experience in previous QA or infection control position

Experience opening a skilled community a plus, but not required!

Infection Control credentialing preferred or must be willing to obtain
